Baptism of fire for Nakamba

admin

Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba was a second half substitute as he debuted for English Championship basement side Sheffield Wednesday at Swansea on Sunday.

But his bow was far from ideal as the strong relegation candidates suffered a 4-0 humiliation to stay hanging at the edge.

Nakamba joined the Owls last week just beating the winter transfer deadline as he crossed from League One club Luton Town.

He is now teammates with compatriot Sean Fusire but only for the remainder of this season after he penned a six-month contract with the insolvent club currently under administration.
This team was docked 18 points due to several breaches and they sit at the foot of the Championship table with minus seven points.

They look to be going one way which is down and on Sunday they moved even closer to the League One with the butchering at Swansea.

Nakamba did make a huge impression with several blocks and interceptions which were key to limiting the damage but the Zimbabwe skipper wouldn’t have imagined such a crashing debut.
But at least he is guaranteed game time, something which was hard to come by under Jack Wilshere at Luton Town.

“I was looking to have a decent debut at least but football sometimes can be like this,” said Nakamba.
“I am eager to continue playing my part and hopefully we will start winning games.”
