Mighty Warriors Discover Opponents as Zambia Four-Nation Tournament Fixtures Are Confirmed

Hope

The Zimbabwe women’s national football team, the Mighty Warriors, have officially learned their opponents for the upcoming Zambia Four-Nation Tournament following the release of the full fixture schedule by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).

The regional competition will take place at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia, and will bring together four national teams in a short but highly competitive international tournament. The participating nations are Zimbabwe, hosts Zambia, Kenya, and Lesotho, setting up an exciting test for all sides as they prepare for upcoming international commitments.

The Mighty Warriors will kick off their campaign with a semi-final clash against Lesotho on June 6. The match is scheduled for 12:30pm local time and will be played at the iconic Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zimbabwe will be aiming to start the tournament strongly and secure a place in the final, with the team expected to use the competition as an important opportunity to build chemistry, assess squad depth, and sharpen match fitness at international level.

Later on the same day, hosts Zambia will face Kenya in the second semi-final at 3:00pm, completing a full day of international women’s football action in Ndola.

The structure of the tournament ensures a quick turnaround, with both winners and losers of the semi-final matches returning to action on June 9 for the final classification matches.

The losing sides from the semi-finals will compete in the third-place playoff at 3:00pm, while the winners will battle for the trophy in the final scheduled for 6:00pm. All matches will be staged at the same venue, giving fans a full showcase of women’s international football over a compact schedule.

For the Mighty Warriors, the tournament presents a valuable opportunity to measure themselves against strong regional opposition, particularly against Zambia and Kenya, who have both shown consistent progress in women’s football in recent years.

The competition is also expected to provide the technical team with a chance to evaluate player performance under competitive pressure, as Zimbabwe continues to rebuild and strengthen its women’s football structure.

With fixtures now confirmed, attention turns to preparations as the Mighty Warriors aim to make a strong impression in Ndola and challenge for honours in the four-nation tournament.
