CAPS United prodigy Alleny Mukombedzi has become the youngest player at the Green Machine to score in each of his first three appearances in the league. The 16-year-old youngster got Makepekepe the insurance goal when they beat Manica Diamonds at Rufaro on Sunday. That was only his third appearance in the league, coming on as a substitute, as he has done in his first two outings.
Strikingly, he has scored each time he comes on.
First, Mukombedzi hit the target in the opening game against Agama before also coming on to make the game safe against Hardrock. On Sunday, Mukombedzi replaced the scorer of the first goal Chawanangwa Kaonga, and he was barely five minutes in the game before picking a good pass from Kundai Benyu.
He then danced his way past a thicket of Manica Diamonds defenders before rounding the goalkeeper off to hit the back of the net.
This 2-0 win ensured CAPS United consolidated their place at the top of the log with 15 points in six games. Mukombedzi said, “I am extremely happy to be in a place where I am getting all the assistance to score goals. I am a striker, and my job is to score. I am absolutely happy.”
