Belgian Giants Anderlecht Renew Interest in Zimbabwe Forward Tawanda Maswanhise

Hope

Belgian giants Anderlecht have reportedly reignited their interest in Zimbabwe international Tawanda Maswanhise following his standout season with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC.

The 23-year-old forward has attracted renewed attention from the Jupiler Pro League outfit after an earlier bid was rejected during the January transfer window, according to reports from Scotland.

Anderlecht had previously tabled an offer for the Zimbabwean international, but Motherwell turned it down as they pushed to maintain their squad strength in the race for European qualification.

Maswanhise has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Scotland, scoring 17 league goals to finish as the club’s top scorer and establish himself as one of the most dangerous young forwards in the division.

The former Leicester City F.C. attacker joined Motherwell in August 2024 after leaving the English club at the end of his contract, and has since developed into a key figure in their attacking setup. His performances have also strengthened his position within the Zimbabwe national team setup.

Reports suggest Motherwell are now valuing the forward at around £4 million, with Anderlecht keen to move early in the upcoming summer transfer window to avoid competition from other European clubs.

Maswanhise’s rise has made him one of Zimbabwe’s most in-form attacking exports in Europe, with interest expected to grow further if he maintains his current scoring form.
