Chicken Inn FC seek momentum

Chicken Inn FC are looking to add more room on hapless Manica Diamonds and aid their own cause in the Premier Soccer League when the two teams clash at Greenfuel Arena this Thursday. The Gamecocks are eager to move up the ladder in the league after collecting five points in the opening four games of the season. They will be the first team to be hosted by the Mutare side in Chisumbanje, the winless diamond miners having played home games this season at Gibbo in Triangle.
While the Tafadzwa Mashiri charges are yet to collect any points this year, Chicken Inn coach Tonderai Ndiraya is fully aware of their slight dominance over the Bulawayo team in the past nine league matches.
The two teams have met nine times since 2019, when Manica Diamonds joined the elite league and it is they who have had an edge after winning thrice, while Chicken Inn have posted two victories, with the remainder having ended in draws.
In recent years, the two clubs have mostly been at par, both their 2025 fixtures having ended in draws.
In 2024, Manica Diamonds beat Chicken Inn 1-0 at Sakubva before the Gamecocks posted an identical scoreline at Luveve.
“We are in this game to try and win it,” said Ndiraya.
“We are coming from this break, and we are looking forward to a good encounter against Manica Diamonds.”
