Final round of stadium inspection as PSL season draws closer
admin
Authorities are wrapping up stadium inspections across the country ahead of the start of the 2026 Premier Soccer League season on March 6.
A comprehensive report about the state of the grounds as well as recommendations for those who would have failed or provisionally passed the assessments will be shared at the end of next week.
But it looks like Rufaro and Barbourfields have already passed the tests as both are set to host PSL approved competitions this weekend and next.
Dynamos and Highlanders face off in a Jairos Jiri Charity match at Barbourfields this Sunday.
The Glamour Boys will also take on Scottland in the season-opening Castle Challenge Cup at Rufaro next Sunday.
That means the two facilities are good to go in terms of hosting top-flight games this year.
Clubs like ZPC Kariba and Triangle will be praying that their arenas, Nyamhunga and Gibbo will pass the inspections after both failed the tests at the start of last season.
Other facilities to be used for PSL games and which need to pass the test include Mandava, Luveve, Ascot, Bata, Sakubva and Heart.
The newly-built Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe will also be inspected.
