Highlanders coach voices frustration over administrative support

Highlanders football club head coach Benjani Mwaruwari has raised concerns over lack of support at the club, citing administrative delays that has affected his start to the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The former Zimbabwe international stated that working conditions have been difficult at the club, adding that key processes within the club are not being handled accordingly.
“I have been working in very difficult conditions. Everyone did not want me here, and that’s a fact,” Mwaruwari said.
He also pointed to delays in securing documentation for a player, revealing that the issue has remained unresolved for over a month now.
“Normally by now I should have the answer, but I haven’t heard anything from the club. This boy has been waiting for a permit for the past month,” he said.
Mwaruwari added that the lack of progress has forced him to speak publicly, as questions continue to arise on his coaching abilities.
The comments come following growing concerns over stability at the Bulawayo giants as the season progresses.
