The LuckyBets Player of the Match award continued to make a strong impact across the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 15 fixtures, recognizing a series of outstanding individual performances from Saturday through Monday as players delivered decisive contributions for their respective teams.
Since its introduction in May 2026, the LuckyBets initiative has quickly grown into one of the most talked-about features in Zimbabwean football, rewarding consistency, influence, and match-winning performances with a US$200 prize for each standout player. This weekend once again highlighted its importance, as multiple players rose above the rest in tightly contested encounters.
The Matchday 15 weekend action began on Saturday with Dynamos winger Abel Gwatidzo, who earned the LuckyBets Player of the Match award after inspiring a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium. Gwatidzo levelled the match with a superb strike in the 28th minute before continuing to trouble the opposition defence with his pace, creativity, and attacking movement, playing a central role in ending Ngezi Platinum’s long unbeaten run.
At MWOS Ngoni Stadium, goalkeeper Tedious Baye produced a masterclass performance to earn his second consecutive LuckyBets Player of the Match award after helping MWOS secure a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Hardrock FC. Baye delivered several crucial saves, including a remarkable first-half stop from close range, as well as a second-half fingertip save that preserved his side’s clean sheet and ensured they walked away with a valuable point.
Sunday’s fixtures produced a wave of standout performances, with six players rewarded for their influence across the league. Agama FC midfielder Ralph Nyamupurika earned recognition after scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over TelOne, a result that boosted Agama’s survival hopes. At Barbourfields Stadium, Nomore Chinyerere anchored the Highlanders defence in a strong 2-1 win over FC Hunters, delivering a composed and disciplined performance at the back.
Scottland FC forward Panashe Mutimbanyoka also claimed the award after scoring in a commanding 2-0 win over CAPS United, with his attacking movement and pressing causing constant problems. ZPC Kariba midfielder Genius Mutungamiri controlled the midfield in a narrow 1-0 win over Chicken Inn, dictating tempo and helping his side maintain control throughout the match.
Herentals striker Ralph Kawondera continued his fine form after another influential display in a 1-0 win over FC Platinum, once again proving decisive in attack as he strengthened his status as one of the league’s most consistent performers. Simba Bhora wingback Ishmael Nyanhi completed the Sunday list after a tireless performance in a 1-1 draw with Triangle United, contributing strongly in both defence and attack.
The Matchday 15 action concluded on Monday with Manica Diamonds forward Charles Teguru earning the LuckyBets Player of the Match award after a strong all-round performance in a 0-0 draw against Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium. Teguru’s movement, work rate, and attacking presence kept the Gem Boys dangerous throughout the match, helping them secure a valuable away point and extend their unbeaten run to five matches.
The LuckyBets Player of the Match award continues to add excitement and motivation across the league, ensuring that standout individual performances are properly recognised after every fixture. From match-winning goals to defensive masterclasses and goalkeeping heroics, Matchday 15 delivered another reminder of the growing competitiveness and quality within the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
