Nyanhi Shines Despite Simba Bhora Slip-Up

Hope

Simba Bhora wingback Ishmael Nyanhi was named the LuckyBets Player of the Match after delivering an impressive all-round performance in his side’s 1-1 draw against Triangle United at Wadzanayi Stadium on Sunday.

Nyanhi was one of Simba Bhora’s standout performers throughout the match, contributing both defensively and offensively as the former league champions settled for a share of spoils at home despite playing against 10 men for more than half of the match.

Seeking a response after last week’s heavy 4-1 defeat to Herentals, Simba Bhora started brightly and controlled possession during the opening stages. Nyanhi was influential down the flank, combining effectively with Claude Mapoka as the hosts pushed Triangle United onto the back foot.

The pressure eventually paid off in the 26th minute when Carlos Mavhurume rose highest to head home from Adrian Silla’s delivery following a well-worked short-corner routine.

Simba Bhora appeared firmly in control and strengthened their position further when Triangle defender Ariel Makopa was shown a straight red card in the 41st minute for denying Harrison Masina a clear goalscoring opportunity.

With a one-goal lead and a numerical advantage, the hosts looked set to claim maximum points.

However, Triangle United returned from the break with renewed determination. Coach Lloyd Chitembwe’s tactical changes helped the visitors regain control in key areas of the pitch.

Substitute Jimmy Dzingai added stability, while Enock Karembo, Jayden Bakari and Emmanuel Paga increased the pressure on the Simba Bhora defence.

The equaliser arrived in the 55th minute when Bakari broke into space and delivered a dangerous ball across goal for Paga to finish from close range.

Despite being a man down, Triangle United looked the more threatening side for long periods of the second half. Bakari was presented with two clear opportunities to snatch all three points but failed to convert.

While Simba Bhora were left frustrated by the result, Nyanhi’s performance stood out. The energetic wingback remained a constant attacking outlet, tracked back diligently in defence and played a key role in Simba Bhora’s overall display.

His efforts were recognised after the final whistle when he received the LuckyBets Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, the draw leaves Simba Bhora sitting in 9th position after 15 games played so far in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer league.
