Wembanyama Inspires Spurs To Force Game 7

Anotida

San Antonio Spurs kept their NBA Finals hopes alive after a dominant 118-91 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night.

The Spurs led from start to finish to level the series and force a decisive Game 7 for the first time in the Western Conference Finals since 2018.

French star Victor Wembanyama delivered another outstanding playoff performance, finishing with 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks as San Antonio avoided elimination.

Wembanyama made an immediate impact, knocking down his first three attempts from beyond the arc to help the Spurs establish early control of the contest. San Antonio maintained the momentum throughout the game and never allowed Oklahoma City back into contention.

The 21-year-old also reached another significant milestone during the victory. His 28-point display reportedly took his total playoff points tally to 372, surpassing the previous record of 352 points set by NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar during his first postseason run in 1969-70.

In addition to his scoring, Wembanyama contributed two assists and two steals in another all-round performance that underlined his growing influence during the playoffs.

The Thunder struggled to contain San Antonio’s intensity on both ends of the floor and now face increased pressure heading into the winner-take-all Game 7.

San Antonio will now look to carry the momentum into the deciding encounter as they attempt to book a place in the NBA Finals.
