Zimbabwe Women unveil youthful squad for landmark Pakistan tour

Zimbabwe Cricket has named a youthful 15-member Zimbabwe Women’s squad for their upcoming white-ball tour of Pakistan, with selectors continuing to prioritise long-term development as the team builds towards the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–2029.

The squad will travel to Karachi for a historic six-match series against Pakistan at the National Bank Stadium, marking Zimbabwe Women’s first-ever tour of the country. The tour features three One-Day Internationals scheduled for 3, 6 and 9 May, followed by three T20 Internationals on 12, 14 and 15 May.

The selection reflects a clear shift towards youth, with several emerging players earning opportunities at international level as Zimbabwe Cricket seeks to widen its player base and strengthen future competitiveness.

Despite the youthful core, the squad is led by experienced campaigner Nomvelo Sibanda, who continues as captain, while seasoned all-rounder Precious Marange provides additional stability and leadership within the group.

The tour is expected to provide valuable exposure for the young squad as they test themselves in subcontinent conditions, with Zimbabwe Cricket viewing the series as an important step in shaping a more competitive and balanced women’s side for future international assignments.
