ETHEL CHINYERERE JOINS ZAMBIAN SIDE GREEN BUFFALOES

Ethel Chinyerere has completed a move to Zambian side Green Buffaloes Women Football Club on a one-year loan deal from Chapungu Queens.
The Zimbabwe Women’s national team striker secured the move after an impressive 2025 campaign in the Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League, where she scored 18 goals despite missing the beginning of the season due to injury.
Green Buffaloes confirmed the transfer through an official statement released on Tuesday, describing the Mighty Warriors forward as one of the club’s most exciting additions ahead of the new campaign.
The Zambian outfit praised Chinyerere’s qualities in front of goal and said her arrival reflects the club’s ambition to strengthen its squad for top-level competition.
“Green Buffaloes Women Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Zimbabwean international goal poacher from Chapungu Queens Football Club,” the club said in a statement.
Chinyerere’s move comes after she recovered from an injury suffered during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Angola. Despite that setback, the striker still managed to finish among the leading scorers in Zimbabwean women’s football.
Her switch to Zambia represents another important step in her career and provides an opportunity to test herself in one of the region’s most competitive women’s leagues.
Green Buffaloes are currently second on the Zambian Women’s Super League table with two matches remaining before the end of the 2025/26 season.
Chinyerere is also expected to remain an important figure for the Zimbabwe women’s national football team as the Mighty Warriors continue preparations for upcoming international assignments.
