Rio Ngumoha has continued his rapid rise in English football after winning two major honours at the Premier League Youth Development Conference held on Tuesday evening.
The talented 17-year-old Liverpool FC forward was named joint winner of the Premier League Home Grown Debutant of the Season award alongside Max Dowman of Arsenal FC.
Ngumoha also received a Scholar of the Year award, becoming one of 27 young players recognized for their outstanding development and performances during the 2025/26 season.
The awards come after an impressive breakthrough campaign for the teenager, who has steadily established himself as one of Liverpool’s brightest emerging talents. Ngumoha has already made 17 Premier League appearances this season and scored two goals in the competition.
One of the most memorable moments of his young career came on his Premier League debut away to Newcastle United FC, where he scored a dramatic late winning goal to announce himself on the big stage.
