Musetti Withdraws From Roland Garros Through Injury
Hope

Lorenzo Musetti has withdrawn from this year’s Roland Garros after suffering a rectus femoris injury during the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
The Italian confirmed the setback in a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, revealing that medical examinations showed he would require several weeks of recovery.
“Unfortunately, this means I won’t be able to compete in Hamburg and Roland Garros,” Musetti said. “A huge thank you to the Rome crowd for your incredible support.”
The 24-year-old sustained the injury during his fourth-round defeat to Casper Ruud in Rome. Despite not being fully fit, Musetti said he chose to continue playing in front of his home fans.
Musetti’s withdrawal is a major setback ahead of the clay-court Grand Slam, where he reached the semi-finals last year. He will also miss the ATP 500 event in Hamburg scheduled for 17-23 May.
The Italian has enjoyed a solid season so far, recording a 13-7 win-loss record according to the ATP statistics index. Musetti is also a two-time ATP Tour-level champion.
His absence leaves another gap in the Roland Garros field as players continue managing injuries during the demanding clay-court season.
