Oklahoma City Thunder levelled the NBA Western Conference Finals at 1-1 after a 122-113 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, taking control late in the first quarter and maintaining the lead for most of the contest.

The Thunder produced a strong all-round performance, combining pressure defence with timely shooting to close out a competitive game and respond strongly after the opening fixture.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 30 points and 9 assists, scoring key baskets in the closing moments, including a late jumper that helped secure the win. He finished with seven Oklahoma City players scoring in double figures.

Alex Caruso contributed 17 points on efficient shooting, while Isaiah Hartenstein added 10 points and 13 rebounds in a strong interior performance.

For the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama delivered 21 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks in a standout effort. Stephon Castle also impressed with 25 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds but was hampered by nine turnovers.

Meanwhile, San Antonio committed 21 turnovers, with Oklahoma City converting those mistakes into a 27-10 advantage in points off turnovers, which was a decisive factor in the result.

The Thunder’s defensive intensity and composure in key moments allowed them to pull away in the second half and secure the win.

Game 3 is scheduled to take place on Friday.
