Hardrock face Ngezi in crucial matchday 8 PSL clash

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League continues this weekend with several key fixtures lined up for Matchday 8, headlined by a crucial clash between Hardrock and Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Second-placed Hardrock FC will host fourth-placed Ngezi Platinum Stars at Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday at 3pm, with both sides aiming to maintain their strong start to the season.
Hardrock go into the match level on 16 points with log leaders Caps United, trailing only on goal difference. A win on Sunday could see them apply pressure at the top of the standings.
The Kwekwe-based side has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign so far, recording five wins, one draw, one loss and five cleansheets, in their opening seven matches.
They return to the home ground following a narrow 1-0 victory over Agama FC, bouncing back from a 2-0 defeat away to Caps United, which briefly slowed their early momentum.
Midfielder Wilfred Madzungu will be one of the key players to watch, having scored three goals so far this season, placing him among the league’s leading scorers.
For Ngezi Platinum Stars, the encounter presents an opportunity to move up the table. The Mhondoro-based side sits just one point behind Hardrock and could leapfrog their opponents with a victory.
Ngezi remain unbeaten in the league this season, with four wins and three draws from their first seven matches. However, they will be looking for an improved performance after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Triangle United in their last outing.
Marvellous Mukumba will be one of the players that Ngezi Platinum will be counting on, having already scored 4 goals this season so far and currently leading the golden boot race, alongside the likes of Khama Billiat, Jairos Kasondo and Ralph Kawondera.
