Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 14 produced standout individual performances across Sunday’s fixtures, with Tedious Baye, Eriya Mafirenyika, and Ask Rupande all being named Lucky Bets Player of the Match after influential displays for their respective teams.
MWOS FC goalkeeper Tedious Baye was the hero at Gibbo Stadium as his side secured a 2-0 away victory over Triangle United. Baye produced a disciplined and commanding performance between the posts, making a series of crucial saves at key moments to keep MWOS in control during periods of sustained pressure from the hosts.
His alertness and shot-stopping ability ensured Triangle United were denied early and late breakthroughs, before MWOS sealed the win through goals from Arthur Banda and Magondo. His performance was widely recognised as decisive in securing all three points for the visitors.
At The Heart Stadium, TelOne FC captain and defender Eriya Mafirenyika delivered a complete leadership display in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against FC Hunters. Mafirenyika not only opened the scoring in the 11th minute to give TelOne an early advantage, but also anchored the defence with composure and organisation throughout the match.
Even after FC Hunters equalised through Elder Chirima in the 33rd minute, Mafirenyika remained influential, guiding the backline and ensuring TelOne stayed compact under pressure. His all-round performance earned him deserved recognition as Player of the Match.
Meanwhile at Sakubva Stadium, Manica Diamonds midfielder Ask Rupande was outstanding in a tightly contested 0-0 draw against Highlanders FC. Operating in central midfield, Rupande controlled key phases of play with calmness and intelligence, breaking up opposition attacks and helping his side remain structured under pressure.
Although the match produced no goals, his work rate, ball recovery, and ability to transition play earned him the award as Manica Diamonds shared the spoils with Highlanders in a balanced encounter.
From decisive goalkeeping to defensive leadership and midfield control, Matchday 14 highlighted the influence of individual excellence, with Baye, Mafirenyika, and Rupande all standing out as match-defining performers for their teams.
