Federico Dimarco has been named the Serie A Most Valuable Player for the 2025/26 season after a sensational campaign that helped Inter Milan secure the league title.
The Inter left-back received the award after producing one of the most impressive attacking seasons ever recorded by a defender in Serie A history, contributing six goals and 18 assists during the title-winning campaign.
Dimarco’s 18 assists set a new Serie A record for the most assists in a single season, while his 24 direct goal contributions were the highest total in the league this year.
The Italian international became the first defender ever to win the Serie A seasonal MVP award, underlining his extraordinary influence on Inter’s march to the Scudetto.
Serie A organisers confirmed that the award was determined using advanced tracking and performance analysis data, taking into account technical quality, movement, positional intelligence and overall impact on team performance.
Dimarco was one of the standout figures in Cristian Chivu’s system, consistently providing creativity, attacking width and dangerous deliveries from the left flank. His performances played a major role in Inter winning their 21st league title.
Born and raised as an Inter supporter, Dimarco’s rise from academy product to one of Europe’s elite full-backs has made him a fan favourite at San Siro.
The MVP award capped a dominant individual awards campaign for Inter, with captain Lautaro Martínez winning Best Striker and coach Cristian Chivu being named Serie A Coach of the Season.
Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo praised Dimarco’s performances, describing the left-back as a player who combined “intensity, quality and an exceptional left foot” throughout the season.
After another outstanding year in Nerazzurri colours, Dimarco has now firmly established himself as one of the defining players of modern Inter history.
