Hope

Max Dowman has been crowned Premier League Home Grown Debutant of the Season following a historic breakthrough campaign with Arsenal FC.
The talented 16-year-old enjoyed a remarkable first season in senior football, making headlines after becoming one of the youngest players ever to feature in the Premier League.
Dowman made his league debut against Leeds United FC at just 15 years and 235 days old, immediately making an impact by winning a penalty during Arsenal’s dominant 5-0 victory.
The young midfielder continued to impress throughout the season and later etched his name into Premier League history by scoring in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton FC in March 2026. The goal saw him become the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history.
The Home Grown Debutant of the Season award recognises players who make an outstanding impact during their breakthrough campaign while achieving significant milestones along the way.
The award was decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel and presented during the Academy Awards Evening held at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, May 12.
It was also a successful evening for Arsenal’s academy setup, with Andre Harriman-Annous receiving the Scholar of the Year award.
Dowman’s latest achievement further highlights his growing reputation as one of the brightest young talents in English football and underlines Arsenal’s continued success in developing exciting young players for the future.
