Nava, Herbert Among Roland Garros Qualifiers

Emilio Nava and three French players secured places in the main draw of Roland Garros on Friday after winning their final qualifying matches in Paris.

World No. 97 Nava defeated Spaniard Pedro Martinez 6-3, 6-3 to qualify for the French Open main draw for the third time in his career. The American advanced through qualifying without dropping a set across his three matches.

Frenchman Luka Pavlovic also progressed after beating rising American talent Darwin Blanch 6-2, 6-4. The World No. 240 will make his main draw debut at Roland Garros.

Veteran French player Pierre-Hugues Herbert overcame Leandro Riedi 6-4, 6-7(8), 6-3 to book his place in the tournament. Herbert previously reached the third round in Paris in 2018 and has also won two doubles titles at the event alongside Nicolas Mahut.

Another Frenchman, Kyrian Jacquet, earned his place in the main draw after defeating Britain’s Felix Gill 7-6(5), 6-3. It will be Jacquet’s second Grand Slam main draw appearance this season following the Australian Open.

Spain’s Pablo Llamas Ruiz secured a second successive Roland Garros main draw appearance with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Lithuanian Vilius Gaubas.

Bolivian player Hugo Dellien also advanced after beating Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. The 31-year-old will make his sixth appearance in the Roland Garros main draw.

Elsewhere, Austrian Jurij Rodionov defeated Croatian Borna Gojo 7-5, 6-3, while Russian Roman Safiullin overcame Germany’s Tom Gentzsch 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-4 to reach the main draw.
