PSG Face Bayern Munich in Blockbuster Champions League Semifinal First Leg
Hope

Paris Saint-Germain welcome Bayern Munich to the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal, with both European giants aiming to take control of the tie.
Luis Enrique’s PSG enter the match in strong form, boosted by a commanding 4-0 aggregate victory over Liverpool in the quarterfinals. The French champions have also strengthened their domestic position, extending their lead at the top of Ligue 1 after a rotated side secured a recent win over Angers.
With a league title within reach and another Champions League final in sight, PSG will be confident of making full use of their home advantage in this crucial encounter.
Bayern Munich, however, arrive with momentum of their own after already clinching the Bundesliga title. Vincent Kompany’s side showed resilience over the weekend, producing a remarkable comeback from 3-0 down to defeat Mainz 4-3.
The German champions also carry a strong recent record against PSG, having won their last five meetings, including a 2-1 victory in Paris earlier this season during the group stage.
Both teams are widely expected to produce an attacking contest, with each side among the highest-scoring teams in Europe this season. Bayern have scored 167 goals in 49 matches across all competitions, while PSG have netted 125 in the same number of games.
Control in midfield is expected to play a decisive role. Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović impressed in their quarterfinal win over Real Madrid, while PSG will look to João Neves, Fabián Ruiz, and Warren Zaïre-Emery to dictate play. PSG may also be boosted by the possible return of Vitinha, although his fitness remains uncertain.
Attention will also be on key attackers. Harry Kane has scored 53 goals this season, including 12 in the Champions League, while Ousmane Dembélé remains central to PSG’s attacking threat. Bayern winger Michael Olise also arrives in strong form, contributing heavily in goals and assists this season.
