Rinku Singh produced a sensational all-round display as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a dramatic Super Over finish after their IPL clash ended tied on Sunday.

The match finished level at 155 runs apiece in regulation play before Kolkata held their nerve in the Super Over to seal a memorable victory.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green played a steady supporting role for Kolkata, scoring 34 off 21 deliveries and contributing with the ball as well. While his performance was not headline-grabbing, it came at an important stage as he continues to find form in the tournament.

Lucknow appeared to have control at several stages of the match but were unable to close it out. Their innings was boosted by Rishabh Pant’s 42, while Rinku Singh’s explosive fielding and batting display proved decisive for Kolkata.

Singh played a key role in rescuing Kolkata from a difficult position earlier in the innings, helping them reach a competitive total of 155–7. He later delivered under pressure again in the Super Over, where Kolkata restricted Lucknow to just one run after taking two wickets.

Chasing a modest target in the tiebreaker, Singh finished the match in style, striking a boundary off the first ball to secure victory for Kolkata.

Lucknow’s late resistance in regulation play had earlier forced the Super Over, with veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami striking a crucial six off the final ball to level the scores at the end of 20 overs.

Despite the loss, Lucknow showed moments of resilience, but their inability to handle pressure in the Super Over ultimately cost them the match.

Kolkata’s win marked their second of the season, while Lucknow slipped further down the standings after suffering another defeat.

The result highlighted Kolkata’s growing confidence in tight finishes, with contributions across the team proving decisive in one of the most dramatic matches of the IPL season so far.
