Rosenior shown the exit door by Chelsea

Chelsea have sacked head coach Liam Rosenior following a 3 nil Premier League defeat to Brighton on Tuesday, ending his short spell in charge after a poor run of results.
The decision comes just over three months after his appointment in January, with the club confirming the move following a series of disappointing performances.
The loss to Brighton was Chelsea’s fifth consecutive league defeat without scoring, a run that effectively ended their hopes of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
In a statement, Chelsea said the decision was not taken lightly but acknowledged that recent results and performances had fallen below the expected standards of the club.
Rosenior, who replaced Enzo Maresca earlier this year, managed just 23 matches during his tenure. Despite a promising start that included several early wins, the team’s form declined sharply in recent weeks.
The club endured a difficult spell, losing seven of their last eight matches across all competitions and recording their worst goalscoring drought in more than a century.
Rosenior leaves Chelsea currently sitting on 7th position, 3 points above 12th placed Fulham.
Assistant coach Calum McFarlane has been appointed interim head coach for the remainder of the season and will lead the team into upcoming fixtures, including a crucial FA Cup semi final tie against Leeds United.
