Six Players Earn LuckyBets Player of the Match Honours

Hope

The LuckyBets Player of the Match award once again spotlighted the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League’s standout performers, with six players delivering decisive displays to help their teams secure crucial results during Matchday 15 on Sunday.

From title-chasing Scottland FC to relegation-threatened Agama FC, individual brilliance proved the difference as Ralph Nyamupurika, Nomore Chinyerere, Panashe Mutimbanyoka, Ishmael Nyanhi, Genius Mutungamiri and Ralph Kawondera all walked away with the US$200 LuckyBets Player of the Match prize.

Agama FC midfielder Ralph Nyamupurika produced a match-winning display as his side secured a vital 1-0 away victory over TelOne FC. The 22-year-old scored the only goal of the match in the 43rd minute before delivering a disciplined all-round performance that helped Agama claim three valuable points.

The result lifted Agama out of the relegation zone and provided a huge boost to their survival hopes. Nyamupurika’s influence continues to grow during the club’s debut Premier Soccer League campaign, with the midfielder now boasting three goals and three assists this season.

At Barbourfields Stadium, Highlanders FC defender Nomore Chinyerere earned recognition after helping Bosso secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over FC Hunters.

Chinyerere anchored the Highlanders defence throughout the contest, making crucial interventions and providing composure at the back as the hosts protected their lead. His leadership and positional awareness proved key as Highlanders returned to winning ways and climbed to seventh place on the league table.

Scottland FC forward Panashe Mutimbanyoka also enjoyed a memorable afternoon after inspiring his side to a commanding 2-0 victory over CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium.

Mutimbanyoka scored Scottland’s second goal just a minute after Knowledge Musona had opened the scoring, effectively putting the match beyond CAPS United early on. Beyond his goal contribution, the striker’s movement, pressing and link-up play caused constant problems for the opposition defence, earning him the LuckyBets accolade.

At Nyamhunga Stadium, ZPC Kariba midfielder Genius Mutungamiri was recognised for a commanding performance in his side’s narrow 1-0 victory over Chicken Inn FC.

Mutungamiri controlled proceedings in midfield and played a key role in helping ZPC Kariba maintain their advantage after Collin Muleya’s first-half header separated the two teams. His ability to dictate tempo and retain possession helped the hosts secure an important home win.

Meanwhile, Herentals striker Ralph Kawondera continued his impressive campaign after claiming his second LuckyBets Player of the Match award since the initiative was introduced.

Kawondera was instrumental in Herentals’ 1-0 victory over FC Platinum, producing another influential attacking display as the Students secured all three points away from home. Although Dreamer Liyeto scored the decisive goal, Kawondera’s work rate, movement and attacking presence ensured Herentals remained a constant threat throughout the encounter.

The latest award further highlights Kawondera’s consistency this season, with the striker leading the league’s scoring charts on nine goals after 15 matches.

Meanwhile Simba Bhora’s wingback Ishmael Nyanhi was named LuckyBets Player of the Match after a top drawer perfomace which saw his side manage to collect a point at home against struggling Triangle United.

The LuckyBets Player of the Match award continues to reward excellence across the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, recognising players whose performances directly influence results while providing additional incentives for players to excel on the pitch.
