SPURS LEVEL SERIES WITH DOMINANT 133-95 WIN OVER TIMBERWOLVES

Hope

San Antonio Spurs bounced back strongly in the Western Conference semifinals with a commanding 133-95 victory over Minnesota Timberwolves, levelling the series at 1-1 in a one-sided Game 2 on Wednesday night.

The Spurs responded emphatically after their opening-game defeat, delivering a complete team performance led by Victor Wembanyama, who produced 19 points and 15 rebounds in a dominant display at both ends of the court.

Victor Wembanyama set the tone early, attacking aggressively from the outset and helping San Antonio race into a huge first-half lead. The Spurs went on a blistering run, overwhelming Minnesota on both offence and defence.

De’Aaron Fox added 16 points, while Stephon Castle contributed 21 points as the Spurs shot 50% from the field and an impressive 41% from three-point range. Their fast start proved decisive as they built a commanding 29-point lead in the first half.

Minnesota, in contrast, struggled throughout the night, managing just 35 first-half points. The Timberwolves shot under 30% before the break and were unable to recover from the early deficit.

Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels and Terrence Shannon Jr. each finished with 12 points, but the Timberwolves never found rhythm or consistency against a disciplined Spurs defence.

The margin of defeat became the only point of interest late in the game as both teams emptied their benches with San Antonio comfortably ahead.

Minnesota coach Chris Finch admitted his side was outplayed, saying they were “punched” and never matched the intensity of the Spurs, who controlled the game from start to finish.

The series now moves to Minneapolis for Games 3 and 4, where Minnesota will attempt to regroup, while San Antonio will look to build on their momentum after a statement win.
