Zimbabwe Women suffered a heavy 206-run defeat at the hands of Pakistan Women in the second ODI of their series at the National Stadium in Karachi on Wednesday.
The result leaves Zimbabwe Women trailing 2-0 in the three-match series, with one game still to play.
Pakistan Women produced a commanding batting display after electing to bat first, posting a massive 343/4 in their 50 overs. Openers Gull Feroza and Sadaf Shamas dominated the Zimbabwe attack with a record-breaking 189-run partnership.
Feroza scored a fluent 100 off 95 balls, while Shamas went on to register 101 from 112 deliveries, as Pakistan built a strong foundation before accelerating late in the innings.
Sidra Amin contributed an unbeaten 59 to push the total beyond Zimbabwe’s reach, with further quick runs in the death overs taking Pakistan to one of their highest ODI totals.
In response, Zimbabwe Women struggled from the start and were never able to recover after losing early wickets. Despite resistance from Kelis Ndhlovu, who top-scored with 32, the chase collapsed under sustained pressure.
Fatima Sana led the bowling attack with figures of 3/15, while Momina Riasat, Rameen Shamim and Syeda Aroob Shah supported strongly with two wickets each as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 137 in 39 overs.
The defeat highlights Pakistan Women’s dominance throughout the series, with the hosts now taking an unassailable 2-0 lead ahead of the final ODI on Saturday.
