Zimbabwe ‘A’ will return to international action next month after Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed a tour of Zimbabwe Cricket featuring three one-day matches and two four-day fixtures against Bangladesh ‘A’.
The tour is expected to provide valuable competitive exposure for Zimbabwe’s emerging players as they continue their development in both white-ball and red-ball cricket.
The series will begin with the one-day matches, with the opening two fixtures scheduled for the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on 8 and 10 June. The third and final one-day encounter will then be played at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium in Rajshahi on 13 June.
Attention will afterwards shift to the longer format, with both four-day matches set to take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. The first four-day match will run from 17 to 20 June, while the second fixture is scheduled for 24 to 27 June.
The tour marks Zimbabwe ‘A’s first assignment since October last year, when they faced the Marylebone Cricket Club in a three-day match at Harare Sports Club.
Before that, Zimbabwe ‘A’ were last involved in a competitive series during Scotland’s tour of Zimbabwe in April 2025, where they featured in both multi-day and one-day matches.
The upcoming Bangladesh tour is expected to play an important role in strengthening Zimbabwe’s player development pathway, while also giving selectors an opportunity to assess upcoming talent in demanding foreign conditions.
With conditions in Bangladesh traditionally favouring spin bowling and requiring patience from batters, the tour is also expected to provide a strong learning environment for the squad ahead of future international assignments.
Zimbabwe Cricket is expected to announce the touring squad in due course as preparations for the June series continue.
