AUSTRALIA MAINTAIN TOP SPOT IN ICC WOMEN’S T20I RANKINGS UPDATE

Hope

Australia have retained their position at the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings following the latest annual update, underlining their continued dominance in the shortest format ahead of the global showpiece later this year.

The rankings, released by the International Cricket Council, place Australia firmly at number one with 287 points, giving them a 12-point advantage over second-placed England.

India occupy third position with 264 points, while reigning champions New Zealand sit fourth with 253. South Africa complete the top five with 243 points as the leading positions remain unchanged in the latest update.

The annual revision applies full value to matches played since May 2025, while results from the previous two years are weighted at 50 percent.

West Indies and Sri Lanka are placed sixth and seventh, respectively, separated by just a single point, while Pakistan remains eighth. Ireland and Bangladesh complete the top 10, also divided by a narrow margin.

Elsewhere, the United States made progress by climbing two places to 20th, while Germany also recorded notable improvement, breaking into the top 30 after gaining valuable rating points.

A total of 78 teams are included in the latest rankings, having met the minimum requirement of matches played over the past three years. Cambodia dropped out of the list, while Peru is no longer ranked after a prolonged absence from international competition.

The latest standings come as teams intensify preparations for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, where Australia will once again head in as one of the favourites.
