Zimbabwe national cricket team will welcome India national cricket team for a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series scheduled for July at Harare Sports Club, in what promises to be a major highlight on the country’s cricket calendar.
The matches are set to take place on July 23, 25, and 26, with all fixtures starting at 1300 hours local time. The series marks another chapter in the growing cricketing ties between the two nations, following their most recent meeting during the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Chennai earlier this year.
India last toured Zimbabwe in July 2024, where the sides contested a five-match T20I series that attracted widespread attention both locally and internationally. The upcoming tour is expected to generate similar excitement, with fans eager to see top-level cricket return to Harare.

Zimbabwe head into the series with renewed confidence after an impressive showing at the global tournament. Competing in a challenging group that included Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Oman, the hosts delivered a remarkable unbeaten run to finish top of their group and secure a place in the Super Eight stage—an achievement that underlined their growing competitiveness on the international stage.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni described the upcoming series as a valuable opportunity for both the team and supporters. He emphasized the importance of hosting a cricketing powerhouse like India, noting that such fixtures not only strengthen Zimbabwe’s international profile but also provide local fans with a chance to witness elite-level competition firsthand.
Looking ahead, the bilateral relationship between the two sides is set to continue, with Zimbabwe scheduled to tour India in January 2027 for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series. This will mark Zimbabwe’s first bilateral tour of India since 2002, signaling a renewed commitment to regular engagement between the two cricket boards.
The July T20I series against India is expected to draw significant attention, not only as a competitive contest but also as a celebration of Zimbabwe’s continued rise in international cricket.
Meanwhile, in other developments, the Zimbabwe Women Under-19 cricket team narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the 5th Nigeria Invitational WT20I (Patricia Kambarami Cup) after suffering a five-wicket defeat to Rwanda Women national cricket team. Despite the setback, the young side showed promise throughout the tournament, offering hope for the future of women’s cricket in Zimbabwe.
