Zimbabwe Women High Performance Centre secure back-to-back wins in Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament in Rwanda as Nyasha Gwanzura hits brilliant century
Zimbabwe Women High Performance Centre enjoyed a perfect Wednesday in the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s T20 Invitational in Rwanda after producing two strong performances to register back-to-back victories against Rwanda Women and Brazil Women.
The day began with Zimbabwe HPC showing composure and control as they defeated hosts Rwanda Women by 3 wickets in a closely contested opening match. Despite pressure from the home side, Zimbabwe managed to stay focused during the chase and secured an important win to continue their positive start in the tournament.
Later in the afternoon, Zimbabwe HPC returned to action against Brazil Women and produced a more dominant performance, winning by 47 runs. The batting unit stepped up once again, with Nyasha Gwanzura delivering a standout innings that defined the match.
Gwanzura produced a brilliant century that anchored Zimbabwe’s innings and proved to be the difference between the two sides. Her performance gave Zimbabwe a strong platform and allowed the bowlers to defend a competitive total with confidence.
Across both matches, Zimbabwe HPC showed consistency in both batting and bowling departments, responding well under pressure and maintaining control in key moments of the games. The double victory underlines their growing confidence in the tournament and strengthens their momentum moving forward.
With two wins from two matches on the day, Zimbabwe HPC now turn their attention to their next fixture against Nigeria Women on Thursday at 13:30 CAT, where they will look to continue their winning run in Kigali.
